Limefix Utility downgrades iOS 15 from A9 to iOS 10.
In 2020, the Pangu Jailbreak Team shared information from a security conference, revealing details on the Secure Enclave Processor (SEP) and a vulnerability they discovered, BlackBird. This vulnerability, when paired with checkm8, constitutes an unfixable SecureROM flaw. It allows you to load custom SEP firmware and downgrade a device without needing to store SHSH2 blobs first.
Limefix’s demo version was never released. This commercial programme must be purchased before you may use it to downgrade your iPhone or iPad.
Limefix SEP Utility is a revolutionary tool created exclusively for the A9 – A9X, leveraging the power of Blackbird to enable device downgrades without the need for SHSH blobs or signed iOS software. With this fantastic programme, you can easily downgrade your iPhone 6S from iOS 15 to iOS 10 or iOS 9 while maintaining a smooth user experience.
Blackbird is a SEP exploit for A8 and A10 devices. Similar to checkm8, it is a hardware attack that cannot be patched. This exploit allows users to conduct activities such as setting SEP NONCE, which facilitates the restoration of SEPOS to an unsigned version.
This capacity overcomes a significant challenge in the downgrading process. Essentially, it allows for a seamless transition to any desired iOS version by booting a previous SEPOS.
Limefix SEP Utility’s compatibility with A10 devices is expected to be extended in future updates, increasing its utility across a larger spectrum of iOS hardware. This premium software is available for purchase, with prices starting at $12.99, providing consumers with a versatile and cost-effective alternative for device downgrades. Downgrades can be performed tethered or unthreaded.
Downgrading iOS with blobs entails leveraging preserved SHSH blobs, or digital signatures, to authenticate and install an older version of iOS on your device. This technique would be impossible if Apple stopped signing previous iOS versions.
This approach is no longer effective; however, the SEP Utility application, which uses the blackbird exploit, allows downgrades without the need for certified iOS software or the storing of SHSH blobs for your device.
SEP Utility allows both tethered and untethered blackbird downgrades using SHSH blobs. You may also use the software to decode SEP KBAG files. SEP Utility will be available solely on macOS. The release date has been confirmed as November 28, 2023.
Devices other than A8-A10 will not be supported. Unfortunately, this means that the iPhone 8, iPhone X, and all other A11 devices are not supported.
